The Director of Operations is responsible for leading and managing all mining operations across multiple sites or regions. This executive-level role ensures that production targets are met safely, sustainably, and cost-effectively. The Director will oversee site management, operational planning, resource allocation, and continuous improvement initiatives, while ensuring compliance with environmental and regulatory standards.
Essential Functions•Provide strategic leadership and direction for all mining operations
•Oversee production, performance and maintenance across all sites by partnering with engineering, sales, finance and safety
•Develop and implement operational plans to meet production goals and financial targets
•Ensure compliance with health, safety, environmental, and quality standards
•Lead and mentor a team of site managers, performance, and operational staff
•Drive operational excellence through continuous improvement initiatives and innovation
•Collaborate with executive leadership on long-term planning and capital projects
•Manage operational budgets, forecasts, and performance metrics
•Build strong relationships with regulatory agencies, suppliers, and community stakeholders
•Ensure effective risk management and crisis response strategies are in place

Education Qualifications
•Required High School or Equivalent
•Required Bachelor's Degree in Mining Engineering, Geology, Business Administration, or a related field
•Preferred Master's Degree or MBA
Experience Qualifications
•Required 10+ years experience in mining operations
•Required 5+ years experience in a senior leadership role
Skills and Abilities
•Strong knowledge of mining methods (open-pit, underground), equipment, and technologies
•Proven track record of managing large-scale operations and leading cross-functional teams
•Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills
•Strong financial acumen and experience managing multi-million-dollar budgets
•Familiarity with ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) principles and sustainability practices
•Experience with digital transformation and automation in mining, preferred
•Knowledge of mining regulations and standards, preferred
Licenses and Certifications
•Valid driver's license and a clean driving record required
