The Director of Sales and Business Development is responsible for leading the company's sales strategy and driving business growth. This role involves identifying new market opportunities, building strategic partnerships, managing key customer relationships, and overseeing the sales team to achieve targets. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of the mining industry, strong leadership skills, and a proven track record in sales and business development.
Essential Functions•Develop and execute sales and business development strategies aligned with company goals
•Identify and pursue new business opportunities in existing markets and outside
•Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers, partners, and stakeholders
•Lead negotiations and close high-value deals
•Collaborate with operations, engineering, and finance teams to align offerings with customer needs
•Analyze market trends, competitor activities, and customer feedback to inform strategy
•Represent the company at industry events, trade shows, and conferences
•Manage and mentor the sales and business development team to meet performance targets
•Prepare and present regular sales forecasts, pipeline reports, and strategic plans to executive leadership
•Prepare annual budgets and present to stakeholders
•Create and implement annual pricing strategies

Education Qualifications
•Required High School or Equivalent
•Preferred Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field required. A Master’s degree is preferred
Experience Qualifications
•Required 10+ years experience in sales, business development, or commercial roles within the mining or materials sectors
Skills and Abilities
•Strong understanding of mining operations, supply chains, and procurement processes
•Proven ability to develop and close complex deals and partnerships
•Excellent leadership, negotiation, and communication skills
•Experience with CRM systems and sales analytics tools
•Willingness to travel frequently, including to remote mining sites
•Strong understanding of construction/construction materials, preferred
•Experience in both equipment/services sales and project-based business models, preferred
•Familiarity with ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) considerations in mining, preferred
