Rogers Group is currently seeking an individual for the role of Director of Quality. The potential candidate for this role must be enthusiastic, energetic and have an uncompromising emphasis on safety, quality, and customer satisfaction. This individual will champion Rogers Group’s Core Values by providing creativity, strong leadership, and continuous improvement to regional Quality Control and Sales teams through effective communication and ongoing coaching. The successful candidate will safely perform position specific responsibilities to ensure a high level of productivity, quality, and internal and external customer service while adhering to all relevant company policies, procedures, and guidelines throughout the organization.

Additionally, this position will have responsibilities that include but are not limited to:

Responsible for maintaining and updating the company policies, procedures, and guidelines involving quality assurance and sales processes.
Develop clear and concise quality and customer service goals within our business units that lead to RGI being the preferred provider in each Strategic Market Area.
In conjunction with sales, responsible for facilitating and improving relationships between Quality Managers and key personnel from larger fixed plant customers, DOT’s, state industry associations, and high-profile projects.
Oversee the quality control functions and processes for the entire company, working with local Quality Managers to establish a higher level of expectations around quality from all aspects of the company.
Provide leadership and direction to Strategic Market Area Leaders, Division Vice Presidents, and Senior Leadership on developing a quality culture that permeates through the organization and is focused on improving the customer experience.
Responsible for working with all RGI Quality Managers to promote a safe and quality driven workplace. Promote sharing of best practices and procedures amongst this group.
Responsible for working with production, sales, estimator, construction, and quality managers to design and implement quality control standards and procedures to assure we are meeting and exceeding customer specifications and expectations.
Responsible for working with local Quality Managers to identify high potential employees and putting development plans in place for those employees.
Work with local teams to problem solve quality and production related issues as they occur.
Evaluating and recommending the resources necessary to meet our quality and customer service goals. Work with local teams to establish and achieve those goals in quantifiable ways.
Build and maintain relationships with various DOT’s and other industry organizations to assure we are fully aware of trends and changes that may occur regarding the production of aggregates and asphalt, and in the asphalt construction industry so that RGI will have a voice in proposed changes.
Work with the VP of Sales and the local revenue generating teams to improve processes for capturing customer information that results in understanding customer needs and implementing solutions to achieve them.
Continuously evaluate RGI’s customer service program and look for solutions that improve the process from start to finish. Champion those solutions and create implementation programs to share them across the company.
Managing the annual inventory measurement process.
A variety of other important tasks and duties as needed and assigned at the discretion of the VP of Sales, Marketing and Quality.


Qualifications:

Demonstrable knowledge of aggregate and asphalt testing procedures required for RGI to ensure that we are meeting and exceeding industry and customer requirements.
Working knowledge of the specifications of the various state DOT’s where Rogers works to ensure we are meeting or exceeding those requirements.
Demonstrated ability to seek out and evaluate new technologies and technical advancements that add value to our products and customers and keeps RGI on the leading edge of quality and customer service.
Demonstrated ability to work with senior management to accelerate the improvement and differentiation of existing products and processes.
The ability to evaluate and review quality requirements and testing results, product applications, and markets as needed for due diligence in acquisitions or Greenfields.
Bachelor’s degree in Construction Technology, Civil Engineering, Business or a related field of study preferred.
Licensed Professional Engineer in any state
5-7 years of industry experience in aggregates, asphalt, concrete and sand & gravel required.
