Position Summary
Claridge House is seeking an experienced and dynamic Director of Operations to oversee daily hotel operations and ensure an exceptional guest experience. This role is responsible for leading the Housekeeping Department and department heads, driving operational excellence, and maintaining profitability while aligning with the hotel’s boutique brand and standards.
Key Responsibilities
•Lead the day-to-day operations of the hotel, including the housekeeping, front office, and security departments.
•Ensure a high standard of guest service and satisfaction through hands-on leadership and training.
•Collaborate with the General Manager to develop and implement strategies that drive revenue, manage costs, and improve overall operational performance.
•Maintain a strong presence on the property, regularly interacting with guests, team members, and vendors.
•Monitor quality assurance and guest feedback systems; implement corrective actions when necessary.
•Uphold brand standards and ensure compliance with health, safety, and sanitation regulations.
•Recruit, train, and mentor management-level staff, fostering a positive work environment and a culture of accountability.
•Assist in the preparation of annual budgets, forecasts, and business plans.
•Serve as Acting General Manager in the GM’s absence.
Qualifications
•Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, or related field (preferred).
•5+ years of progressive hotel operations experience, including at least 2 years in a senior leadership role.
•Proven ability to manage a multi-departmental team in a luxury or boutique hotel setting.
•Strong financial acumen and experience with budgeting and cost controls.
•Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
•Proficient in property management systems (PMS); knowledge of Opera and/or Hilton systems a plus.
•Passion for hospitality and a guest-first approach to service.
Working Conditions
•Full-time, on-site position.
•Must be able to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays, as business demands.
•Ability to stand, walk, and move throughout the hotel property for extended periods.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $85,000.00 - $95,000.00 per year
