About the Role
The Director of Operations is responsible for the strategic execution of the operations function: planning, scheduling, manufacturing, engineering, quality, and safety for all Tate facility operations.
What You’ll Do
•Participate with other senior staff members in the development and formulation of long and short-range planning, policies, programs and objectives.
•Lead the activities of the Manufacturing, Manufacturing Support Services, Quality Control, Logistics, Engineering, and Safety functions of the business.
•Oversee manufacturing and quality processes to ensure processes are documented and any changes to processes and procedures go through appropriate approval activities and documented as per ISO guidelines.
•Formulates and recommends manufacturing policies and programs that guide the organization in maintaining and improving its competitive position and the profitability of the operation.
•Directs and monitors plant and department managers to accomplish goals of the manufacturing plan, consistent with established manufacturing and safety procedures.
•Manage the Operations functions using a data-based approach, utilizing a granular understanding of the drivers of the Operations’ Key Performance Indicators & Manufacturing Variances to drive performance improvement plans.
•Aggressive management of manufacturing overheads to ensure best in class see through cost base.
•Reinvigorates the Continuous Improvement program to drive the organization's competitive position and the profitability of operations.
•Drives all Capital Expenditure projects to ensure unnecessary capital outlay is minimized and timely delivery of projected returns.
•Actively supports new product development and aggressively drives timely and successful introduction of new products.
•Development of engineering team to broaden expertise and ensure successful and timely execution of Continuous Improvement and Capital Expenditure projects.
•Directs the establishment, implementation and maintenance of production standards.
•Develops and implements ongoing evaluation and training programs for all staff; ensures all employees under the Operations function meet expected competencies for their role and ensures training plans are implemented to address any competency gaps.
•Develops and maintains a succession plan for all key Operations positions.
•Maintains tight Inventory Management minimizing Company's working capital position and negating inventory obsolescence, while closely coordinating with Purchasing and Finance departments.
•Targets and achieves Grade 1 on Corporate internal factory audits.
•Develops and maintains programs to meet sustainability performance targets at each facility to align with NET Zero and Planet Passionate goals.
•This position requires up to 25% travel. Some of the trips may be international.
•Maintains awareness of individual contribution to and impact of the quality, safety, environmental, and product compliance policies and activities; reports all quality issues, unsafe acts, and unsafe conditions to the proper personnel.
Additional Expectations
•Remain compliant with the Code of Conduct and Policies which includes the Kingspan Group Compliance Policy.
•Ensure that all duties related to product compliance are adhered to in accordance with the Product Compliance Policy, Laws, Regulations, and market demands.
•Responsible for all tasks to achieve compliance goals and demands of the Compliance Management System.
•Must raise concerns related to the Compliance Management System with their supervisor, manager, or any member of the Leadership Team, or through the confidential whistle blower service.
What You’ll Bring
•Bachelor’s degree in industrial or mechanical engineering, or business administration.
•10+ years of experience in manufacturing management, preferably in a process-oriented operation and/or related industry.
•Good Manufacturing Practice (“GMP”) experience is preferred.
•A minimum of 5 years of experience managing a significant segment of a large manufacturer or the entire operation of a smaller manufacturer.
•Demonstrated leadership skills that result in effectively achieving short term objectives and long-term goals through the activities of others.
•Proficient in all Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Power Point) and Outlook
•Must possess valid driver license.
•High level of interpersonal skills. Must have demonstrated experience in collaborating with various internal and external constituents.
•Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
•Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality and discretion.
•Must be able to travel domestically and sometimes internationally.
