Your Impact

As Director, Global Exploration Opportunities, you will shape Newmont’s future growth by identifying, evaluating, and prioritizing high-value exploration opportunities worldwide. Your leadership will help build a balanced, resilient global portfolio while ensuring disciplined, value-accretive decision making aligned with Newmont’s long-term strategy.

As Part of Our Team, You Will

- Identify and evaluate new global exploration opportunities aligned with corporate strategy.

- Optimize frameworks, KPIs, and performance targets for the opportunity pipeline, enabling clear portfolio prioritization and disciplined execution

- Lead Develop and maintain the portfolio management system for Global Exploration Opportunities, including frameworks, valuation models, KPIs, and executive summaries to facilitate prioritization., and executive reporting.

- Monitor industry trends and competitor activity, providing executive level reporting to inform strategic decisions.

- Conduct desktop and field reviews of target areas and early-stage projects in collaboration with Greenfields, Geoscience, and Corporate Development teams.

- Maintain global database of exploration opportunities, valuation models, and executive summaries of exploration targets.

- Provide technical guidance on joint venture and early-stage assets to Projects and Studies teams.

- Partner with Legal, Finance, Sustainability, and External Relations to assess understand jurisdictional, ESG, and commercial risks.

- Lead and develop a high-performing global team, fostering inclusion, collaboration, and technical excellence.

- Manage budgets, forecasts, and reporting for the Global Exploration Opportunities portfolio.

Prerequisites for Your Success in This Role

- Advanced degree in Geoscience, Geology, Mineral Economics, or related discipline; MBA or PhD preferred.

- Recognized as a Qualified Person under international reporting standards.

- Extensive experience in global mineral exploration, asset evaluation, and portfolio management.

- Strong understanding of gold and base metal related mineral systems and the full resource development lifecycle.

- Proven ability to assess geological, technical, commercial, and jurisdictional risk.

- Demonstrated success leading teams and influencing senior stakeholders across functions and regions.

- Strong written and verbal communication skills for both technical and executive audiences.


Your Work Environment

- This is an enterprise-led, global role operating across diverse jurisdictions and cultures.

- You will work closely with Exploration & Geosciences, Corporate Development, Projects, Finance, Sustainability, and external partners.

- Regular domestic and international travel is required to support field reviews, partnerships, and strategic engagements.

The salary range offered for this role is USD $175,950-246,330. The salary range is tied to the Colorado market for jobs performed in Colorado. The salary offer to the successful candidate will be based on job-related education, training, and/or experience. The salary offer will not be based on a candidate’s salary history at other jobs, and by law, Newmont will not seek information about salary history, and candidates should not share such information with Newmont.

This role will be eligible for participation in a discretionary annual bonus program, pursuant to which an employee may be awarded a percentage of their salary based on the company’s performance and their own individual performance. This role also will be eligible for participation in a discretionary long-term incentive program, pursuant to which an employee may receive awards based on their level and individual performance.
