Database Administrator

NSB Omega is searching for a Database Administrator for our MAJO Oil & Gas Client in Cold Lake, AB.

Assignment Description Key Responsibilities

- Install, configure, and maintain database management systems

- Monitor database performance and implement tuning strategies

- Ensure data integrity, security, and availability across systems

- Perform regular backups and recovery procedures

- Troubleshoot database issues and provide timely resolutions

- Collaborate with developers and IT teams to design efficient database structures

- Implement and maintain disaster recovery and high-availability solutions

- Document processes, configurations, and standards

Qualifications

- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience)

- 3+ years of experience as a Database Administrator or similar role

- Strong experience with database platforms such as SQL Server, Oracle, or MySQL

- Proficiency in database performance tuning and optimization

- Knowledge of backup, recovery, and security best practices

- Experience with scripting (e.g., PowerShell, Python) is an asset

- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities

Nice to Have

- Experience with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS)

- Familiarity with data warehousing and ETL processes

- Relevant certifications (e.g., Microsoft, Oracle)
