Data Modernization Director

Job Details: Job Title: Data Modernization Director Type: Contract – 2 Years Location: Jackson, MS (Onsite)

Position Description:

The Data Modernization Director will oversee projects funded under a public health infrastructure grant, specifically focused on data modernization. Projects include:

- Modernization of the agency website

- Implementation of a new licensing and certification database

- Improved interoperability for immunization information systems

- Electronic test orders and results (ETOR) enhancement for state health laboratories

The Director will assist with project timelines, provide general oversight, and support project leaders as needed. They will ensure effective communication with project teams and help maintain focus on project goals and deadlines.

Required Skills:

- Experience overseeing multi-faceted data management and/or modernization projects

- Strong communication skills with team members involved in data collection, management, and development

- Knowledge of data and IT security standards, especially for protected health information (PHI)

- Experience with data management, visualization, and analysis tools

- Familiarity with modern data management and analysis software systems and vendors

Preferred Skills:

- Experience with government entities on data or IT projects, especially procurement or purchasing

- Experience with federal grant reporting and management

Pay: $95.00 - $101.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40.0 per week
