At Northwest Environmental, we help businesses manage waste more efficiently and sustainably. We’re looking for a Customer Engagement Specialist to join our Customer Success team. This is a proactive role focused on building strong customer relationships, reviewing accounts, and ensuring our clients are set up for long-term success.
You’ll act as a trusted partner — identifying cost savings, recommending better service options, and helping customers achieve their sustainability goals. This role works under the direction of the Vice President of Customer Success and works closely with our Customer Service team.
- Review customer accounts monthly to identify overages, contamination fees, or other cost increases — and help customers adjust services accordingly.
- Call customers regularly to provide education, ensure satisfaction, and explore new service opportunities.
- Identify new service opportunities (e.g., recycling, composting, shredding, and medical waste) and collaborate with the Sales team on developing proposals.
- Provide quarterly sustainability and recycling reports; deliver specialized reports for key customers.
- Proactively manage contract expirations, renewals, and ownership changes to secure long-term agreements.- Experience: 2+ years in customer success, account management, or sales preferred.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills; confident in customer outreach and relationship-building.
- Problem-solving mindset with the ability to resolve issues quickly and effectively.
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and proactive in managing accounts and contracts.
