Golden Vertex Corp is a mining company based in Bullhead City, AZ. The Moss Mine Complex is a precious metal, open pit surface mine specializing in gold/silver extraction. Golden Vertex was recently acquired by new ownership (Mako Mining Corp) and is under new management. The Company operates the Moss Mine located in Mohave County in northwestern Arizona, approximately a one hour and a half drive south of Las Vegas, Nevada. Golden Vertex Corp is currently seeking a qualified person for the position of Crusher Operator for our Moss Mine project.
Golden Vertex Corp. is seeking a safety-conscious Crusher Lead Operator with at least 3 years of experience to join our operations team at the Moss Mine Complex. The Crusher Lead Operator will be responsible for safely Leading a crew in day-to-day, operating, and maintaining the primary and secondary crushing systems in a fast-paced, high-production environment. This role plays a key part in our metal recovery process by ensuring consistent throughput and optimal feed to the heap leach pad.
- The working Lead will actively participate in and oversee the safe, efficient operation of the crushing circuit, providing guidance in day-to-day operations and training to new Operators. They will Lead by example, be accountable, communicate effectively, and maintain designated standards.
- Ensure operational targets are met (i.e. total throughput tonnage) consistently and safely.
- Ensure operators are accountable and fulfill their duties in a safe, efficient manner as defined by GVC SOP’s, policies, safety practices, and operational targets.
- Report all incidents, maintenance concerns, operational inefficiencies, and consumables inventory as needed to their Direct Supervisor.
- Required to be fully trained on all aspects of the crushing circuit, relevant equipment, and quality control measures.
- Work with their Direct Supervisor and Maintenance Superintendent to coordinate any planned maintenance action items and down day task lists.
- Designated to provide training for all Operators in their respective positions as per their training plans.
- Will be Authorized to sign off on training plans per Operators designated positions.
- Provide coverage for any position as needed, (i.e. call-offs, PTO, breaking out crews)
- Operate, monitor, and maintain crushers (jaw, cone, and impact), screens, conveyors, and associated equipment.
- Ensure Operators perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance on crushing equipment for optimal operation.
- Instruct Operators to ensure optimal throughput and consistent feed to the plant and adjust crusher settings as required for changing ore conditions.
- Identify equipment malfunctions and coordinate with their Direct Supervisor and Maintenance Superintendent to perform necessary repairs.
- Ensure Operators complete their daily checklists, pre-ops, and daily reports accurately and consistently.
- Assist in providing feedback on performance of Operators to their Direct Supervisor.
- Ensure plant cleanliness standards are maintained consistently.
- Ensure daily sampling is done accurately and delivered on time each shift.
- Communicate effectively with other operators, supervisors, and plant personnel.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment in compliance with MSHA and company safety standards.
- Assist in other areas of the plant as needed, including material handling and equipment operation.
- Completes site-specific training
- Completes work place inspection paperwork
- Ensure Operators consistently use their required PPE in designated areas.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Minimum 1 Year Junior leadership experience leading a crew of personnel in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience operating crushing equipment / circuit in a surface mining or aggregate operation.
- Familiarity with open-pit mining and heap leach operations preferred.
- Knowledge of MSHA safety regulations and best practices.
- Ability to work 12-hour shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays, in a physically demanding outdoor environment.
- Mechanically inclined with the ability to troubleshoot minor issues and perform light maintenance.
- Must be a team player with a strong work ethic and attention to detail.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 50 pounds regularly.
- Comfortable working at heights, around heavy machinery, and in varying weather conditions.
- Must be a U.S. Citizen or I-9 compliant and legally able to work within the United States.
- While performing job duties, the employee is regularly required to stand, sit, demonstrate manual dexterity, climb stair and ladders, work on elevated platforms, talk, hear and see.
- May be required to lift heavy objects (up to 50 pounds) during the workday
- Personal protective equipment is required when performing this position. The work is an outdoor mine setting which requires hard hat, hearing protection, safety glasses, safety footwear, and as needed, respirator, protective clothing, gloves and other protective equipment as required by law
- Successfully complete background check and maintain a valid USA driver’s license
