- Creates and posts complex month-end journal entries (i.e., allocation of expenses to business units, foreign exchange income or expense, costs associated with legal reserves, pension and OPEB benefits, and other comprehensive income).

- Handles intercompany transactions between the US and foreign subsidiaries.

- Reviews balance sheet accounts during month-end close and analyzes Valero’s elimination companies to understand how they are utilized to create consolidated financial statements.

- Completes reports and pulls support for Corporate Reporting team, S.E.C. team and Valero’s external auditors as part of quarterly or year-end reporting.

- Assists with accounting for Valero’s consolidated joint ventures and equity method joint ventures.

- Prepares various ad-hoc reports and completes special projects.

- Reconciles cash accounts and assigned general ledger accounts on a monthly basis.

This position is salaried exempt status, which means you are not eligible for overtime pay.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

- Able and willing to work on-site, in-person at the Valero San Antonio location, required.

- Bachelor’s or higher level degree - in Accounting required.

- 2+ years of experience in the following areas: Accounting, Public Accounting, and/or Auditing experience required.

Preferred Requirements:

- Experience in refining industry preferred.

- CPA preferred.
