Job Summary:
Oversees all financial, accounting and payroll activities. Responsible for budget management, financial analysis, payroll, forecasting, accounts payable, accounts receivable and financial reporting. Develop and maintain policies and procedures within the Accounting and Payroll departments and ensure compliance. The controller is accountable for the accounting and payroll operations of the company. This includes the preparation of weekly and bi-weekly payroll processing and reporting, the production of periodic financial reports, maintenance of an adequate system of accounting records, a comprehensive set of controls and budgets designed to mitigate risk, enhance the accuracy of the company's reported financial results, and ensure that reported results comply with generally accepted accounting principles.
Duties/Responsibilities:
•Establish, maintain and enforce a documented system of accounting policies, procedures, internal controls, and reporting systems.
•Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local legal requirements.
•Protects operations by keeping financial information and plans confidential.
•Participate in the development of and support the company’s strategic plans.
•Serve on various boards and committees of the organization.
•Monitor the financial performance of the company.
•Oversee the compilation and analysis of financial reports.
•Prepare monthly and annual operating budgets, analyze variances and initiate corrective action when necessary.
•Develop and manage financial controls in accordance with company policies.
•Provide leadership and support to accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll and financial reporting departments.
•Manage the preparation of payroll for personnel.
•Coordinate the provision of information to external auditors for the annual audit.
•Keep up-to-date on current accounting standards and payroll regulations.
•Support Chief Financial Officer with special projects.

Education/Experience:
•Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Accounting, Finance or related discipline. Master’s Degree or MBA preferred.
•Accounting designation (CMA, CPA), or an equivalent combination of related experience and education.
•Minimum 5 to 10 years accounting experience in a senior accounting or financial management role with at least 5 years’ experience leading teams.
