Florida Marine Tanks, a division of Patrick Industries, located in North Carolina is hiring an experienced Controller to join our Team. While utilizing hands-on accounting experience and a comprehensive understanding of accounting principles and company practices, the Controller will perform complex accounting activities and financial analysis.
Florida Marine Tanks manufactures various fuel, water, oil and holding tanks supporting the Marine Industry. FMT is fully equipped for sheet metal fabrication from high quality aluminum and stainless steel and is committed to building the safest, highest quality, and most competitively priced products
Acting as a key Leader and reporting to the Business Unit Director, the Controller is expected to ensure best practices are being followed and executed across the Organization financial operations; ensuring roles, responsibilities, and results are efficiently coordinated and collectively optimizing compliance with and the effectiveness of the company under the Sarbanes-Oxley Act.
The Controller will also be responsible for working closely and partnering with Leadership throughout the Business Unit to partner, influence and guide financial decisions and discussions. .
Responsibilities and Duties:
•Complete month end closing and financial statement analysis, including plan variances
•Prepares special reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing data and trends
•Monthly financial reporting and preparing journal entries
•Process new vendor set up request
•Prepare monthly sales reports
•Account reconciliations, including Inventory in Transit, Interco due to/from, Bank Accounts, and Petty Cash
•Other Various Ad Hoc projects
Qualifications and Skills:
•Must have a minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance
•Candidates should have a minimum of 2 years’ accounting or finance experience
•Cost Accounting experience
•2+ years as Accounting Manager or Controller
•Manufacturing Accounting experience
•Prior experience working within a publically traded company is highly desired
•Must have above expertise in Excel
•Candidates must be organized and have a high attention to detail
•Experience with ERP System, Power BI, OneStream, Blackline
•Ability to bring strategic thought leadership while providing strong execution of detailed departmental functions
•A high level of personal integrity (self-esteem, confidence, honesty, and respect)
•Candidates must have strong accountability and follow-through skills
•Flexibility and foresight to balance engagement and the business needs

•Process monthly commission calculations and draws
•Calculating monthly commission schedule and payments to team members
COMPENSATION
Salary range $85-110,000 DOE. A bonus will be offered contingent on the company achieving it’s annual financial goals. FMT offers a comprehensive benefits program that includes medical, dental and vision insurance, vacation, 401(k) with company match and more.
