Independent Engineering Work largely independently with basic guidance on control systems and instrumentation projects. Perform the majority of controls engineering tasks without senior support while quickly recognizing when expertise is needed.
Project Leadership Develop project scope for detailed design phases, provide input to schedules and budgets, develop P&IDs of moderate complexity, and establish engineering budgets for small projects. Write construction scope documents and manage project deliverables.
Technical Excellence Perform Factory and Site Acceptance tests, develop procurement specifications, conduct detailed vendor reviews, and ensure compliance with governing codes and client standards. Guide design teams and work within engineering budgets.
- Education: B.S. in Chemical, Electrical, Mechanical or Control Systems Engineering
- Experience: 3-15 years in oil and gas or related industry
- Technical Skills: P&ID development, instrumentation sizing/specification, control valve expertise
- Software: Microsoft Applications, basic INtools knowledge preferred
- Certifications: P.E. in Control Systems Engineering preferred
- Stage-gated project process knowledge
- Construction package development experience ($1MM to $30MM TIC)
- HMI, PLC, and DCS hardware specification abilities
- Experience with hazardous area wiring and industrial communication networks
- Basic understanding of Safety Instrumented Systems (SIS)

- Able to sit/stand, type, and perform computer work for long periods of time.
- Frequent use of hands/fingers for computer entry and answering calls.

- Ability to communicate effectively verbally in-person, by phone, and via video conferencing.
- Hearing ability adequate for meetings, presentations, and collaboration.
- Ability to concentrate and maintain attention for extended periods while managing multiple priorities.
- Ability to work irregular hours including evenings and weekends as business needs require.
- Able to travel to job sites (local and/or remote) as project needs require.
- Able to work in heavy industrial environments while wearing required PPE (hard hat, safety glasses, steel-toed boots, fire-retardant clothing, gloves, etc.).
- Able to climb ladders, stairs, and work on elevated surfaces.
- Able to walk on uneven terrain and surfaces.
- May be exposed to outdoor weather conditions and industrial environments during site visits.
