Job Description
We are seeking a Construction Specialist (EHS) to support construction and infrastructure projects by providing Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) oversight for contractors. This role partners with site EHS teams and project leadership to ensure work is performed safely and in compliance with all applicable regulations.
- Review contractor Health & Safety Plans (HASP) to ensure hazards and mitigation measures are identified.
- Verify contractors have appropriate training for assigned tasks.
- Conduct frequent on-site safety reviews and document findings, gaps, and corrective actions.
- Ensure corrective actions are developed and implemented.
- Stop work when unsafe conditions could result in serious injury or fatality.
- Ensure daily job briefings are conducted.
- Coach contractors and subcontractors on proper PPE use and safe work practices.
- Lead or participate in incident investigations and root cause analysis.
- Provide safety and environmental guidance to project teams.
- Coordinate with emergency response organizations.
- Attend contractor safety meetings and support internal safety reporting.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred, or 2–5 years of EHS experience in lieu of degree.
- Knowledge of federal, state, and local safety and environmental regulations.
- Experience with construction, electric utility, transmission, substations, or right-of-way (ROW) hazards.
- Incident investigation (RCA) training preferred.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and work collaboratively in a matrixed environment.
- CSP, ASP, CIH, or CHST
- First Aid or CPR (Required)
