The Work:
Flock Construction Inc. (Flock) is seeking experienced Project Managers and Site Supervisors on a rolling basis to oversee our construction projects from inception to completion. Running a construction project involves wearing many hats and a huge variety of activities:
•Running the site day-to-day: ensuring safety, scheduling subcontractors, answering questions, monitoring progress, quality control, and more.
•Working with clients: running meetings, translating the technical into common language, negotiation, and more
•Estimating projects and winning work: careful review of project plans, detailed budgeting, building relationships, and more
•Assisting the owner with running the business: accounting, legal management, risk management, licensure, insurance, and more
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in construction management, with a focus on quality control and team supervision. This role requires effective communication skills, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment. The Project Manager will ensure that all work is completed safely, on time, and in accordance with project specifications.
Because our projects are small, only one person is assigned full-time to each project and may perform the traditional duties of a site supervisor or a project manager day-to-day, depending on the day.
The Skill Required:
•Proven experience in supervising teams on construction sites and managing complex projects
•Strictness for meeting all safety policies and procedures
•Excellence at meeting schedule and deadlines
•Base knowledge of all trades in commercial construction
•Ability to read and follow commercial building codes
•Proficient in reading blueprints and understanding technical drawings
•Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage a long to-do list and a busy jobsite simultaneously
•Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
•Fully fluent in MS office suite including MS Project, Excel, Word, Outlook, and Teams
•Excellent written and verbal communication skills
•Experience with all types of construction documentation including change orders, RFIs, meeting minutes, 3-week look-heads, and submittals.
•High level of professionalism for working with world-class clients
What you're not doing:
•We are 100% subcontracted for work. You will not have to use tools. This is not a working-super role. You will be 100% focused on management.
•We keep our clients and subs happy. You will not be battling daily with either. We work exclusively collaboratively with all stakeholders on every project.
•Punching a clock. We give our team wide lattitude to schedule their day-to-day work. Meeting the quality, schedule, and budget is what determines success.
•Agonizing over budgets. We are not the bargain GC. We only take on projects with enough resources to do it right.
•Staying stagnant. We're a growing company and there's endless room for growth for the right candidate.
