Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated, experienced and highly organized Compliance and Safety Manager to join our growing team. You will provide support and assistance to the Tundra team. You will manage the maintenance and continual improvement of Tundra's Health and Safety program and COR status. You will be responsible for developing, implementing, and ensuring maintenance records of our fleet. You will manage company drivers, including their training and compliance of provincial and federal legislation. The position will primarily be in a shop environment. Travel to client locations will be required.
Responsibilities
Provide support and direction to our crews in the use of the Health and Safety Manual.
Provide leadership in all areas related to health, safety, environmental, quality, and federal transportation/logistics.
Confidently engage with team and show strong leadership skills.
Maintain a working knowledge of current OH&S legislation, Federal and Provincial laws as well as company policies and procedures.
Participate with, and contribute to, ongoing procedural, policy and other documentation development and updates as required.
Ensuring that all employees receive the proper HSE training and are competent in completing assigned tasks.
Promote an organizational culture that empowers all personnel to be involved in HSE matters and to pro-actively take action to reduce risk and to protect people and the environment.
Working in liaison with the leadership team to improve safety systems and promote a positive, compliant HSE culture.
Ensuring the organization is in compliance with government regulations, industry guidelines and company policies.
Establish, monitor, evaluate, and maintain work practices and record keeping.
Coordinate with the operations manager and team to ensure all trucks and equipment are properly maintained, serviced, and certified.
Develop, implement, and share maintenance schedules for the fleet and equipment to minimize downtime and extend the lifespan of vehicles.
Ensure all vehicle maintenance programs are proactively managed on time, with warranty and maintenance records kept up to date.
Oversee all vehicle emergency and technical equipment supply and organization, as well as management and review of vehicle tracking devices and data.
Create and maintain records for GPS, radio and communications, and gas monitor supply, calibration, and testing.
Ensure all WHMIS documentation and protocols are met and maintained (i.e., MSDS).
Maintain accurate and detailed records of all maintenance activities, including service history, repairs, parts replacements, and associated costs.
Utilize fleet management software to track and monitor maintenance schedules, upcoming service appointments, and vehicle downtime.
Coordinate/develop effective operations plan for unit maintenance and expense work and communicate them to the team.
Promote and encourage a positive attitude toward Health & Safety.
Requirements
Must be local or willing to relocate before start date.
This is a safety-sensitive position that mandates drug and alcohol testing and continued compliance.
Willing and able to work in a team setting and help out where needed.
Physically able to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods.
Diploma or degree in OH&S / Internal/External Auditors Certificate and previous experience working in a HSE role with COR certification.
Minimum of five (5) years' direct field experience in an oil & gas service company.
Valid class 5 driver license minimum no GDL.
Current safety tickets is preferred (H2S, First Aid/CPR, CSO).
Familiarity with third party compliance software (ISN, Avetta, etc.)
Working knowledge (developing) in all related HSE, WCB, OH&S, federal transportation, and human rights legislation and the ability to interpret the regulations and laws.
Familiarity with E-logs, HOS, software such as Geotab, the difference in highway transport and oilfield regulations and exemptions.
Proficient in Microsoft Office 365 (Word, Excel, PPT, Teams, Outlook).
Ability to change gears rapidly, and thrive, in a demanding, fast paced and dynamic environment to support organizational growth.
Experience with training and providing mentorship and teachable moments with integrity, empathy and strong conflict resolution skills.
