The Safety Coordinator is responsible for ensuring compliance with safety regulations, developing and implementing safety programs, and conducting training sessions to promote a safe work environment. Responsibilities include implementing health and safety protocols, conducting regular safety audits, and educating employees on safety regulations and procedures. Understands OSHA guidelines and create and implement safety policies in all shops.
Developing and implementing health and safety programs in the manufacturing facility
Conducting weekly, monthly, quarterly, yearly safety inspections and audits to assess risk, and recommend solution
Ensuring the company’s compliance with local, state, and federal safety regulations
Training employees on safety procedures, regulations, and accident prevention
Work with Human Resources Manager regarding safety training & safety meeting scheduling
Investigating accidents and incidents to identify their causes and find ways to prevent them in the future
Providing guidance and advice on measures to minimize hazards or unhealthy situations
Organizing safety committee meetings and participate in safety consultations
Complete daily reporting, safety initiatives, and other tasks associated with safety.
Organize and input all testing pertaining to Safety and Audits
Input all incident tracking for Close Calls, First Aid and Total Incident Recording
Working with human resources to maintain safety policies and procedures
High School Diploma - or the equivalent (for example, GED)
Certification in occupational health and safety (e.g. OSHA certification)
