CNC Machinist for FPT Horizontal Mill

About Us:

We are a growing machine shop specializing in precision machining. We are looking for an experienced and detail-oriented CNC machinist to join our team and run our FPT horizontal milling machine. This role is key in producing high-quality parts that meet customer specifications.

Responsibilities:

- Set up and operate CNC boring mills and related equipment to machine precision parts.

- Interpret blueprints, work instructions, and GD&T requirements.

- Select proper tooling, make offsets, and adjust machining settings as needed.

- Monitor machine operations to ensure accuracy, surface finish, and adherence to tolerances.

- Inspect finished parts using precision measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, height gauges, etc.).

- Perform routine maintenance on machines and keep work area clean and organized.

- Troubleshoot machining issues and work with programmers to resolve them.

- Follow all safety guidelines and shop procedures.

Requirements: .

- Experience operating CNC machines (experience with horizontal mills preferred).

- Experience with a Heidenhain controller (preferred).

- Strong blueprint reading and machining math skills.

- Familiarity with G-code, offsets, and tooling setup.

- Ability to use precision measuring instruments and inspection equipment.

- Comfortable lifting, moving, and setting up heavy parts with cranes or lifts.

- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality work.

- Reliable and able to work independently or as part of a team.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $18.00 - $30.00 per hour
