Edgewater Technical Associates is seeking qualified candidates for a Chief Information Officer (CIO) opportunityin Oak Ridge, TN.

An active or recently active DOE “Q” Clearance is required
The Chief Information Officer will be responsible for ensuring that all information systems, IT investments, and data security protocols fully comply with DOE Order 205.1D (Cybersecurity Program) and DOE Order 200.1A (Information Technology Management). This role is critical to national security and requires a leader capable of managing complex, high-consequence environments.
- Establish and maintain an IT investment portfolio and Capital Planning and Investment Control (CPIC) process in alignment with DOE Order 200.1A.
- Serve as the primary authority for the site’s cybersecurity posture, ensuring compliance with NIST 800-37/53/171 and preparing for CMMC (Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification) requirements.
- Oversee the protection of National Security Systems (NSS) and unclassified information in accordance with Committee on National Security Systems (CNSS) standards.
- Implement a risk-based cybersecurity program that includes real-time situational awareness and threat mitigation for both IT and operational technology (OT) systems.
- Manage IT project lifecycles using approved project management frameworks, ensuring that performance measures meet DOE G 415.1-1 standards.
- Advise the internal executive team and DOE federal counterparts on IT resource allocation, security weaknesses (POAMs), and technical innovations to reduce mission costs.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
- 15+ years of experience in IT leadership, with a strong background in nuclear operations or government contracting.- In-depth knowledge of DOE Orders (205.1, 200.1), FAR/DFARS, and NIST cybersecurity frameworks.
- Experience managing secure enterprise architectures and large-scale data systems within regulated environments.
