We are seeking a strategic and hands-on Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to lead our financial organization and partner closely with the executive team. While our headquarters are in Washington DC, this role may be performed remotely by qualified candidates across the U.S. The CFO will play a critical role in shaping company strategy, driving profitable growth, strengthening financial discipline, and supporting operational excellence as we scale.
This role reports directly to the President and is a key member of the executive leadership team.
- Serve as a trusted advisor to the CEO and President on financial strategy, growth planning, and capital allocation
- Translate company goals into financial plans, forecasts, and KPIs
- Develop/Review long-term strategic initiatives including geographic expansion, and M&A
- Oversee all accounting, finance, FP&A, tax (including Domestic Content management), and audit functions
- Build and manage annual budgets, rolling forecasts, and long-range financial models
- Ensure accurate, timely financial reporting and develop strong internal control
- Lead financing strategy including debt, tax equity, working capital, and investor relations (as applicable)
- Optimize cash flow and balance sheet management in a portfolio-based solar environment
- Support lender relationships, and financial due diligence
- Evaluate and track company profitability, labor and installation costs, and operational efficiency
- Strengthen financial processes that support scalable growth
- Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing finance/accounting team
- Improve financial systems, controls, tools, and processes to support growth and compliance- 10+ years of progressive finance leadership experience; prior CFO or VP Finance experience preferred
- Experience in solar, renewable energy, construction, project finance, or high-growth services businesses strongly preferred
- Strong background in forecasting, control strengthening and strategic planning
- Demonstrated experience with financing structures relevant to the solar industry
- CPA, CFA, or MBA a plus
- $180,000-$220,000 Salary
