DUTIES:

Under direct supervision, to perform detail Distribution and Bulk drafting work to create, update and maintain identified drawings and foreign print drawings; and to perform other related drafting work as assigned. In this connection to perform details of work, such as:

Draw, update and maintain distribution and bulk substation drawings, electrical, and other diagrams associated with distribution and bulk substation design, with computer or, when necessary, by hand.

Change drawings to match marked prints or verbal instructions.

Create, maintain and prepare special posters, signs, charts, or reports when requested.

Assist in taking field measurements or sketches at the site to resolve discrepancies on drawings, and/or obtain additional information.

Maintain and update all CAD files and drawing information in the electronic drawing management system.

SPECIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

Quality and accuracy in updating and maintaining CAD drawings and information.

For holding as confidential information obtained in connection with Company business.

Responsible for safe, prudent, efficient and effective use of Company resources.

Conduct self in efficient and effective manner.

CONTACTS:

Supervisors, engineers, construction personnel, other Company departments in connection with work performed, outside companies (if requested) in acquiring information for the maintenance and construction of Ameren drawings.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

Primarily in an office environment, however when on field trips or assigned to a special on-site project, the employee may be subject to the usual conditions existing in switchyards, substations or other buildings, and subject to outdoor weather conditions. When in the field, the employee must wear personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.

HAZARDS:

Subject to those hazards incidental to visiting construction projects, switchyards, substations and other buildings.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Satisfactory completion of 15 credit hours at an accredited university, college or junior college of study leading toward an Associate’s Degree in design drafting, computer aided drafting or other drafting technology, with at least 6 credit hours in Computer Aided Drafting.

Possess and maintain a valid driver's license.

Graduation from high school or the equivalent.

Successfully pass the Company's EEI Technical Aptitude test. If an aptitude test is failed on the employee's initial effort, it may be retaken after a one- month waiting period, but not to be taken more than once per job posting. Only two retakes will be permitted.

Successfully pass department CAD proficiency test.

POST-EMPLOYMENT TRAINING REQUIREMENTS:

Successfully complete the department CAD Technician training program and pass the department CAD Technician evaluation within 6 months of hire in the department with a score of 80% or above. Employees who do not score at least an 80% on the CAD Technician evaluation will be disqualified from the position.
