We are looking for team members to help contribute to our global growth. The Purchasing department is seeking a Planner/Buyer to be a key contributor to Armstrong’s production success. Candidates should possess the following experience and skill-set.

•

Please note - this position is on-site at our location in Three Rivers, MI. Key ResponsibilitiesFind and develop vendors both domestically and internationally to provide best quality and delivery while helping lower total cost

•

Collaborate and strategize with all the Armstrong global purchasing departments to consolidate and improve the global supply chain

•

Help standardize purchasing business processes across all global divisions

•

Work with product engineering, CAD, and sales to ensure the drawing and technical data for purchased items fully describes the part for correct and efficient quoting and buying

•

Manage supply chain volatility by leading a global team to solve quality, cost, or delivery issues

•

Help drive lower inventory by working with vendors on innovative stocking solutions such as vendor man- aged inventory

•

Review vendor’s on-time performance and work to improve poor performers.

•

Create and send purchase orders to vendors based on requisitions from Production Control

•

Create and maintain vendor lead times, minimum buys, and other critical data in the ERP system

•

Coordinate vendor compliance for global certifications such as Indian Boiler Registration and European CE Key Requirements

•

Experienced developing supply sources

•

Demonstrated history in the procurement of metal castings, forgings, bar stock and sheet materials in a variety of alloys

•

Excellent face-to face, telephone, and e-mail communicator Education LevelBachelor's Degree or equivalent Experience Level5 years Benefits
