The Production Control Scheduler sustains production schedule by monitoring raw material, in-process manufacture, and assembly component inventory levels to prevent shortages and past due conditions. Creates and issues jobs to the shop floor and manages production schedule for various manufacturing areas.
Principal Responsibilities
(but not limited to)
:•Performs tasks associated with the production scheduling while meeting productivity, quality, safety, behavioral and attendance expectations.
•Create jobs for internal orders to fulfill customer requirements as well as maintaining component min/max levels.
•Reroute jobs to keep plant utilization optimal and overtime low.
•Review/report on manufacturing lead times with factory supervisors/managers and purchasing manager.
•Collaborate with management on R&D items, purchasing, manufacturing and inventory team, as well as utilize data to determine optimal batch quantities for jobs.
•Work with scheduling program to monitor shop floor status; help forecast and plan future work and determine capacity utilization.
•Ensure jobs have correct information before being released.
•Will be scheduling shop floor and planning utilizing shop scheduling software.
•Work with team to prioritize jobs based on backlog/planned orders and expedited jobs.
•Advise production unit supervisors/leaders of conflicts.
•Audit items for accuracy.
•Monitor daily workload for on-time starts and completions while conferring with department supervisors to assess progress.
•Coordinate KanBan stocking efforts with purchasing/supplier manager as needed and communicating shortfalls or scheduling delays with manufacturing leaders.
•Tracking component shortages
•Analyze and report schedule adherence to management.
•Multiple daily walk-throughs as necessary to furnish progress update on end-to-end job travelers.
•Identify BOM (bill of material), route and item master discrepancies, and facilitate necessary corrections with Master Scheduling Manager.
•WIP query variance monitoring, coordinating corrections with inventory manager.
•Communicate weekly and monthly reports to key personnel to communicate current loads, lead times, on-time delivery, schedule success and etc.
•Aid in creation of process procedures, best practices and controls.
Required Skills & Experience:
•Experience in production planning and/or master scheduling: 5 years preferred, 2 years a must.
•Machine shop scheduling experience: 5 years preferred, 2 years a must.
•Must have excellent communication skills.
•Must be able to read, give and take direction in English.
•Must be detailed oriented, have basic math skills and Strong computer and M.S. Office skills, especially Excel.
•Knowledge of machining operations and routing.
•Demonstrated competencies in operation of ERP systems and software applications. SYSPRO & LYNQ experience a plus.
•Well versed at analyzing information, reporting investigation results, and have solid documentation skills.
