Job Summary

The Buyer position will purchase product to support the die shop and manufacturing operations with additional duties in the shipping/receiving area.

Responsibilities:

Purchasing

o Create and process purchase orders from BOM or requistions.

o Conduct market research for most cost effective solution.

o Monitor purchases and supplies and follow up as needed to ensure timely delivery.

o Negotiate pricing with vendors and on service contracts.

o Identify potential suppliers and maintain new supplier documentation.

o Build network of reliable vendor and service providers.

Shipping/Receiving

o Maintain accurate records of shipping reports, Bill of Ladings, packing lists, labels, and purchase orders.

o Track parts throughout entire outside processing operations.

o Monitor shipments and deliveries and follow up as needed.

o Maintain accurate records of all product entering and leaving the plant.

Education and Experience:

High school diploma or equivalent. Bachelor degree preferred but not required.

2-4 years work experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.

Proficient in Microsoft Office suite.

Comprehension/Communication skills:

Excellent written and verbal communication skills including phone and e-mail etiquette.

Reads and interprets documents such as daily production reports, purchasing requisitions, packing lists, and purchase orders with high attention to detail.

Strong understanding of bill of materials and back flushing importance.

Excellent inter-personal relationship building skills and the ability to communicate and work with individuals of all levels both internally and externally.

Reasoning Ability:

Ability to prioritize and adjust workload based on business needs.

Ability to recognize opportunities and apply problem solving skills to resolve or make improvements.

Physical Requirements

Ability to talk, hear, see, and use hands/fingers to handle or feel.

Ability to walk, reach, bend, stoop, kneel, and climb stairs.

Ability to sit for long periods of time for up to 10 hours a day with good visual acuity to perform activities such as preparing and viewing data.

Ability to occasionally walk, bend, stoop, crawl, or kneel.

Ability to exert up to 40 pounds of force occasionally to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects. If greater than 40 lbs, will require assistance or the use of lifting equipment.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $60,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
