The Business Development Manager at Pickett Systems, a subsidiary of Strike Operating Company, is responsible for expanding the company’s footprint within the measurement and regulation systems market. This role focuses on identifying, pursuing, and securing new business opportunities across the oil & gas, pipeline, and energy infrastructure sectors, while building long-term relationships with customers, EPCs, and pipeline operators. The ideal candidate will have deep industry knowledge, established regional connections, and a demonstrated ability to close complex technical sales.
- Identify and engage prospective customers for Pickett’s custom-engineered metering, regulation, and measurement solutions.
- Conduct market research to anticipate industry trends and uncover strategic growth opportunities.
- Represent Pickett Systems at trade shows, client meetings, and industry events to expand brand visibility.
- Lead the development and execution of sales strategies aligned with company objectives and target markets.
- Collaborate with engineering, operations, and project management teams to scope client needs and align product/service offerings.
- Prepare and deliver proposals, presentations, and contracts, negotiating terms and closing agreements to maximize value and profitability.
- Maintain and report on sales pipeline, performance metrics, and competitor intelligence.
- Support cross-functional initiatives within Strike Operating Company to leverage corporate resources and develop synergies across business units.- Minimum 6+ years of business development or technical sales experience within the Oil & Gas, Pipeline, Measurement Systems, or EPC environment.
- Proven success in capturing business with midstream operators, engineering firms, and utility companies.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Marketing, or related field preferred.
- Technical understanding of measurement skids, metering systems, instrumentation, and gas regulation systems is strongly preferred.
- Strong network and reputation in the midstream and pipeline equipment sector.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills; able to articulate value in technical sales environments.
- Demonstrated success in prospecting, proposal development, and deal closure.
- Strategic thinker with the ability to evaluate opportunities and risks and build actionable growth plans.
- Highly proficient in Microsoft Office Suite; experience with CRM systems required.
- Self-motivated and results-driven, with the ability to manage priorities independently.
- Must be able to travel within assigned region and occasionally to Strike corporate offices or trade events.
- Normal office conditions with occasional site visits.
- Must be able to sit, stand, or walk for extended periods and lift up to 20 lbs occasionally.
