This is a local position where you will be REQUIRED to work daily. You will be able to Work-From-Home (WFH) the majority of the time, but will be required to travel as necessary to Rochester, NY. Applicants MUST be located within New York State. Anyone applying outside of NYS will not be considered.
ChargeSmart EV is a turnkey business solution for commercial customers, electric vehicle (EV) charging needs. We provide our customers the support they need to develop an electric charging program that fits their needs, and their customer’s needs, all while working with a single partner. We provide the service and support to ensure that our customers can build out their charging infrastructure while helping them take advantage of available state and utility incentives in their area.
ChargeSmart EV is hiring a full-time Bookkeeper to support our growing financial operations. This role will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, processing day-to-day transactions, and assisting with reporting and compliance. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, highly organized, and proficient in accounting software, with strong experience in project-based accounting, including SAGE Intacct and QuickBooks Online (Intuit).
- Manage daily accounting tasks, including Accounts Payable (A/P), Accounts Receivable (A/R), invoicing, and expense tracking
- Maintain the General Ledger and ensure accuracy of financial records
- Record and reconcile bank and transactions on a regular basis
- Assist in preparing monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial reports
- Support payroll processing and related reconciliations
- Track project-based expenses and revenue for accurate cost accounting
- Assist with budget preparation and variance reporting
- Help ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and internal controls
- Communicate with vendors, clients, and internal teams regarding billing and payment matters
- Provide support to management and external accountants/auditors as needed
- MUST HAVE EXPERIENCE WITH PROJECT-BASED ACCOUNTING
- Other duties as required
- Associate's or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred
- 3+ years of bookkeeping or accounting experience (project-based accounting required)- Strong proficiency in accounting software (e.g., SAGE Intacct and QuickBooks Online, and potentially other ERP systems)
- Strong knowledge of bookkeeping practices, reconciliations, and GAAP basics
- High attention to detail with excellent organizational skills
- Good communication and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent communication, analytical, and organizational skills
- Passion for sustainability, clean energy, or electric mobility is a plus
- Salary of $50k-$80k Annually (depending on experience)
