Hampton Tedder has an immediate opening for a Billing Specialist. The Billing Specialist will be working directly with Principals, Project Managers and the Accounting Team at our office location in Orange, CA.

Successful candidate must possess strong knowledge and proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite programs, specifically Microsoft Excel as well as demonstrate high attention to detail and have the ability to prioritize and multi-task in a fast-paced environment. They will also need strong communication skills to partner with the Project Managers and Accounting Team to assist in keeping the jobs and billing on track.
Job responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
Provide direct billing and accounting administrative support to Principals, Project Managers, and the Accounting Team
- Provide real-time updates quickly to Project Managers
- Inputting detailed and accurate data into company programs and systems
- Identify document discrepancies and resolve issues
- Maintain monthly spreadsheet(s) in accordance with company policy and procedure
- File maintenance and updates in compliance with company policy and procedure
- Create and manage effective communications
- Perform additional duties as assigned
- Complies with internal controls and company policies
Accounting or finance experience – 2 years (Preferred)
- Knowledge of basic accounting principles and understanding sales tax compliance requirements across various regions
- Time management and ability to meet strict deadlines
- Extremely detail oriented
- Intermediate to advanced proficiency of Microsoft Office Suite required
- Ability to type 50+ WPM- Strong Math aptitude
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work cohesively within a team environment
- Possess above average organization and document control skills
- Self-motivated with a desire to learn
- Ability to be discreet and maintain the security of confidential information
- In-depth knowledge of industry best-practices a plus
- Position may require ability to lift up to 25 pounds, bending, reaching above shoulder level, climbing stairs, pulling, prolonged standing and/or sitting
All applicants will be tested on their level of Excel knowledge and typing speed. Candidates with Excel skill levels of basic or lower, and / or typing speed less than 50 WPM, will be excused from the testing process and will not advance on to the interview.
