JOB FUNCTION/ PURPOSE

The Billing Specialist is responsible for processing billing adjustments and assisting with the reconciliation of customer accounts.

RESPONSIBILITIES

- Timely posting of all cash receipts

- Process monthly accounts receivable statements

- Prepare TAP deposits

- Maintain accounts receivable filing system

- Evaluates customers credit worthiness, places credit holds, etc.

- Reconcile month-end cash reports

- Verifies and posts details of business transactions such as fund disbursed and totals accounts to ledgers or computer spreadsheets/databases

- Process customer invoices

- Resolve invoicing and collection issues

- Computes and records charges, refunds, cost of lost or damaged goods, freight charges, rentals and similar items

- Prepares sales and use tax returns when due

- Responsible for preparation of monthly inter-company billings

- Responsible for the billing and posting of billing transactions

- Understands and adheres to all company health and safety procedures as they relate to essential job functions

QUALIFICATIONS

- Good verbal and written communications

- Familiarity with accounts receivable software

- Experience with Microsoft Excel

- Effective time management and organizational skills

- Accurate and attentive to detail

- Team oriented

- Knowledge of basic accounting skills

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

AA in Accounting or Business and 1-3 years previous accounts receivable experience or an equivalent combination of education and training
