This role is primarily focused on benefits administration
with limited LOA exposure. Manager is looking for a
well-rounded, hands-on benefits administratorwho understands how benefit programs operate end to end and how they integrate with third-party vendors.
- Day-to-day administration of:
- Medical plans
- 401(k)
- Time off programs
- Employee eligibility and enrollment management
- Handling
escalated benefits questions
from employees
- Partnering with
Shared Services
to resolve benefits inquiries
- Working closely with benefits vendors and internal benefits partners
- Invoice managements related
to benefit plans
- Compliance-related support including:
- ACA
- 401(k)
- Nondiscrimination testing
- Form 5500
- Supporting benefits-related projects as needed
- Lower overall volume
- Approx.
5+ benefits cases per day, typically
more complex/escalated
issues
- 2–4 years of
hands-on benefits administration experience
- Strong understanding of:
- Medical plans
- 401(k)
- Benefits compliance
- Workday experience is required
- Experience partnering with third-party carriers and vendors
- Experience supporting
mid-to-large companies
(~9k–10k employees)
- Not looking for consultants — must have
personally executed
the work
- Will be focused on the day-to-day benefit plan administration
- More of a "Generalist" type of role
- Similar job titles include: "Benefits Analyst" or "Specialist"
- Looking for someone who is highly organized, having a case management mindset, and balancing empathy with business focus
- Looking for candidates from fast-paced, adaptable environments, noting that most of their current team has a background in tech
- Need someone with exposure to all types of benefits, including medical plans, retirement, and time away, and who ideally has at least three to five years of benefits experience
- - need someone who can plug in and already knows what to do, which is why a benefits analyst or specialist background is preferred over an HR generalist with benefits experience, as the latter often requires more ramp-up time
