Job Summary:
The Benefits Manager/Specialist is responsible for administering employee benefits programs, including health insurance, retirement plans, wellness programs, leave policies, and other employee benefits. This role ensures compliance with relevant laws and regulations and serves as the primary point of contact for benefit suppliers/carriers and partners with plant Human Resources personnel as a point of contact for employees regarding benefit inquiries.
Key Responsibilities:
•Administer and manage all employee benefits programs (health, dental, vision, life insurance, 401(k), FSA, HSA, etc.).
•Drive the annual benefits renewal process achieving cost reductions/containment and/or enhanced benefit offerings.
•Serve as a liaison between employees and insurance providers to resolve issues and answer questions.
•Ensure accurate processing of enrollments, changes, and terminations in HRIS systems and with vendors.
•Monitor and ensure compliance with ACA, COBRA, HIPAA, ERISA, and other applicable laws.
•Assist in the planning and execution of annual open enrollment, including communications and presentations.
•Audit and reconcile benefits invoices and payroll deductions.
•Stay current with benefit trends and suggest enhancements that align with the company’s compensation philosophy.
•Prepare reports and analyze data related to benefit costs and utilization.
•Support leave administration (FMLA, short/long-term disability, etc.) and ensures proper documentation and compliance.
Qualifications:
•Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business Administration, or a related field
•2–4 years of experience in employee benefits administration/Human Resources Management
•Knowledge of federal and state regulations affecting benefits.
•Strong organizational and analytical skills.
•Proficiency in HRIS systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
•Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Preferred Qualifications:
•Experience with benefit plan design and vendor management.
•Familiarity with wellness program development and implementation.
