Associate Engineer (Entry Level)

Skoda Contracting is a natural gas utility contractor company hiring an Associate Engineer to work in our construction engineering department. This position will be based in Flanders/Fords, NJ.

Job Description:

- Conduct site visits during construction, keeping accurate measurements, field notes, and sketches

- Prepare main as-built drawings in AutoCAD, along with service records

- Complete internal Skoda documentation for recordkeeping, billing, and cost tracking

- Perform data entry in client databases (e.g., Maximo)

- Review ETG construction documents for cost estimating and participate in takeoff meetings prior to project start

- Assist with maintaining crew schedules

- Operate GPS devices to support pipeline installation tracking

- Verify on-site records to prevent damage to existing utilities prior to construction

- Conduct pre-construction site visits and prepare looker reports outlining personnel and equipment needs

- Perform other duties as required to support project completion

Schedule:

- Monday to Friday from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM.

- This is an onsite position.

Requirements:

- Strong math skills and attention for detail

- Proficient in Microsoft Excel

- Valid driver’s license

Preferred Qualifications:

- Proficiency in AutoCAD (Civil 3D experience a plus, but not required)

- Degree in Civil engineering or Construction Management preferred

Salary: $26-32/Hr. DOE
