The Application Analyst will work within Energy Safety Canada’s policies and procedures to ensure clients, both internal and external can access, acquire, organize, and store information successfully. The Application Analyst will balance project and operations work, focusing on customer needs.
- Plans, designs, and develops customized applications and interfaces for Integrated Business Applications that are both in house (Customer Relationship Management: iMis, and Web Content Management Systems: Drupal and WordPress) as well as for cloud services (D2L Brightspace, AWS S3, Integrity Advocate, Algolia, Cloudflare, Google Analytics, Google Maps, MS Clarity, Zoom, MS Teams).
- Provides first and second level application support across the portfolio to clients and serves as a backup escalation point person for business units on major outages. Skills in incident and problem management using proven troubleshooting methods, techniques, ITIL processes.
- Builds business reports, queries and data access through ASI IQA, JavaScript and Microsoft Power BI.

- Post-Secondary Education in Computer Science or Software Engineering
- 5-10 years related work experience with hands-on website support experience
- Formally trained in object-oriented programming languages such as JavaScript and .NET
- 3+ years of experience supporting and developing websites run on Drupal and WordPress CMS’- Experience managing cloud-based website management technologies of Google Analytics, Cloudflare, Microsoft Clarity and Algolia
- Experience setting up and managing Search Engine Optimization techniques
- Working technical knowledge of web-related languages, including HTML, JavaScript, CSS, XML
- Hands-on experience working in integrated development environments, including Microsoft Dev Ops/GitHub
- Extensive experience with MS SQL databases and building/supporting queries
