CVEC is seeking a detail‑driven, people‑focused Administrative Assistant to keep operations running smoothly, champion events, and help power our member‑owned community. - Manage calls, emails, mail, visitors, and organized filing systems
- Schedule meetings, prepare agendas, and take accurate minutes
- Coordinate lodging/meals for line worker crews during outages
- Draft, proof, and distribute correspondence, reports, and presentations
- Track budgets, expenses, and projects
- Arrange travel, training, and conference/event registrations as requested
- Plan and support events for Board of Directors, members, and employees
- Oversee event logistics including venue, catering, materials, and gifts
- Attend, set-up and represent CVEC at events. These events often take place after hours and on weekends
- Manage fleet cleaning, office supplies, and mail distribution
- Support newsletters, announcements, and engagement initiatives
- Assist with cooperative programs, community outreach, and special projects
- Provide executive support to senior leaders including drafting memos, letters, spreadsheets, and forms
- Organize in‑office, off‑site, and virtual meetings
- Arrange catering for meetings
- Safeguard confidential information and assist other departments as needed
- Bachelor's degree (Communications, English, or related field preferred)
- 3–5 years administrative experience (cooperative/utility preferred)
- Strong MS Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and SharePoint skills
- Accurate meeting‑minute taking, advanced proofreading/presentation skills
- Extensive events planning expertise
- Ability to multitask and manage competing priorities
- Organized, self‑directed, and able to work as a team
- Valid driver's license and eligible to become a Notary in Virginia
- Willing to travel and work evenings/weekends
- Knowledge of electric cooperative principles and culture
- Comfortable handling confidential information
- Prior office management success
- Budget/expense management experience
- Process and filing system development
