Summary:

The Accounts Payable Specialist is directly responsible for performing data entry and related duties in disbursing non-payroll accounts This includes maintaining ledgers, credit balances, and account irregularities. The A/P Clerk will also ensure the timely and accurate processing of payment documents such as purchase orders, travel reimbursements, stipends, and any other accounting transactions related to A/P management.

Job Duties: Responsibilities

- Review, verify, and process invoices accurately and in a timely manner

- Match invoices with purchase orders and receiving documents

- Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies

- Prepare and process payments (cheques, EFT, ACH, wire transfers)

- Maintain accurate vendor files and documentation

- Assist with month-end closing, accruals, and reporting

- Respond to vendor inquiries in a professional and timely manner

- Collaborate with internal departments to ensure proper coding and approvals

- Support with special accounting projects as needed

- Assist with audits and compliance requirements

Qualifications

- 4+ years of accounts payable or general accounting experience

- Strong attention to detail and accuracy

- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software

- Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central strongly preferred

- Excellent organizational and time-management skills

- Strong communication and problem-solving abilities
