Ensure all vendor invoices are properly reviewed, documented, and accurately recorded according to company policies, federal, state, and local regulations governing AP payments.
- Process, review, and verify vendor invoices for accuracy, ensuring compliance with company policies, procedures and accounting standards.
- Manage weekly payment runs, including ACH, wire transfers, and checks
- Ensure timely payment of invoices while maintaining accurate records and schedules
- Follow up with accounts to resolve issues and answer questions.
- Main point of contact for vendor relationships and inquiries.
- Review three-way matching of purchase orders, receipts, and invoices
- Collaborate with internal teams, including procurement and Thermal, Solar and Wind Plants, to resolve any invoice discrepancies or payment blocks
- Initiate void/stop-payment requests
- Support and work with Accounts Payable Manager to identify and execute process improvement initiatives.
- Continuously identify opportunities to improve processes and workflows within AP
- Actively promote exceptional customer service standards; develop effective and positive relationships with suppliers and all levels of the organization
- Conduct month-end closing activities and provide supporting documentation for audits.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Associate Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration. Experience may substitute for degree.
- Solid understanding of AP principles with minimum of 5 years’ experience in a high-volume AP environment
- General knowledge of accounting and understanding of the general ledger coding and accounts.
- General knowledge of journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting month-end close processes experience a plus
- High degree of accuracy and attention to detail with excellent organizational, multi-tasking and analytical skills
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across teams
- Must possess the ability to work independently, make decisions, take appropriate actions, and follow through tasks to completion within a fast-paced environment with deadlines
- Proficient with MS Office suite applications, and ERP systems (Workday). Workday experience highly preferred.
