The Accounts Payable Specialist II is responsible for supporting the Accounts Payable group by entering invoices, posting invoices, reviewing payment proposals, processing payment runs, reviewing vendor documentation, and entering new vendors into SAP. They are also responsible for assisting accounting with any accounts payable general ledger related questions at the close of each month.

Duties & Responsibilities

- Assist with accounts payable functions providing backup support activities for vendor maintenance, payment runs, 1099 reporting, and internal/external reporting of company disbursements

- Verify and process vendor additions and changes ensuring proper controls and maintain supporting documentation

- Process vendor disbursements ensuring proper controls including reconciliation to bank files and reports

- Resolve invoice and payment discrepancies

- Support the parent company Hope Utilities by processing the accounts payable invoices for payment

- Respond to vendor inquiries concerning invoice status and payments

- Assist with processing year-end 1099 and 1099-S reporting, ensuring proper vendor W-9 information and classification

- Assist in month end closing and reconcile payables related general ledger accounts

- Perform special projects and ad hoc analysis as requested by the Accounting and Finance leadership team.

- Assist with using Concur to monitor credit card use and expense reporting

Supervisory Responsibilities

The team member in this role will:

- Serve as an Individual Contributor without supervisory responsibilities.

- Support and contribute towards team goals and objectives.

Required Skills & Abilities

- Good computer skills including Excel

- Good organizational, analytical, and interpersonal skills

- Good verbal and written communication skills

- Basic knowledge of contracts and purchasing

- High degree of personal initiative and self-motivation

Education & Work Experience

- 3+ years of accounts payable or accounting experience

WORK CONTEXT

- Minimum travel for work-related purposes is expected 10%, which includes some overnight visits to locations and industry events.
