Summary Of Position
The Accounts Payable Specialist is responsible for the routing of incoming invoices and communications to the appropriate accounts payable department. This role serves as the first step in the AP process to work towards getting an invoice paid and any issues resolved.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities
The following represents most of the position's duties but is not meant to be all-inclusive or prevent other duties from being assigned when necessary. Employees are expected to comply with all regulatory, environmental, and safety rules and standards, as well as corporate policies.
As an Accounts Payable Specialist, you will be responsible for:
- Reviewing, organizing, and prioritizing the AP inbox.
- Maintaining the various AP mailboxes daily while answering the AP hotline.
- Reconciling vendor statements.
- Corresponding with vendor and internal employees regarding payment inquiries.
- Mailing checks and statements.
- Inputting AP data into proper software on a daily basis.
- Assisting with special projects as needed.
- Have a high school diploma or GED (Associates or college degree preferred).
- Adhere to documented procedures. Including maintaining confidentiality of information.
- Have excellent organizational skills and time management.
- Be able to handle a fast-paced environment with changing priorities.
- Must have a professional attitude and demeanor.
- Be able to develop customer service skills including internal customers.
- Be detail oriented with accuracy.
- Operates in a professional and/or business casual office environment.
- Hybrid work schedule. Typically, two days on-site per week; however, some weeks may require additional on-site support.
