Accounting Clerk - entry level

Alpha Southwest has been doing business since 1964 and has grown into the largest deep-set turbine water well contractor in our region. Our services include a pump/well division, electrical division and an electric motor repair division allowing us to provide comprehensive services to our customers. Alpha also maintains additional operations in El Paso, TX.

We are a fast paced office looking to add another member to the Accounting team.

Job Overview:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Accountant to join our team. This position will play a crucial role in supporting our accounting department with various tasks and responsibilities with a focus in accounts receivable.

This position will also handle general office duties. This is a great opportunity for a recent college graduate to take their accounting degree and put it in practice. Training will be provided!

Responsibilities:

- Billings and accounts receivable. Previous experience with time and material billing a huge plus!

- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of financial transactions

- Help the accounting team as necessary

- Support the implementation and maintenance of accounting systems, experience with Great Plains a big plus.

- Provide general administrative support to the accounting department as needed

Education:

- Accounting degree preferred.

In lieu of degree, we will consider years of experience.

Skills desired:

- General accounting and bookkeeping skills

- Proficiency in using accounting software

- Financial acumen and understanding of basic accounting principles

- Experience with account reconciliation processes

- Knowledge of corporate accounting practices and procedures

- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and recordkeeping

- Strong analytical skills to identify discrepancies or errors in financial data

- Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
