General Accounting Clerk I-IIEaston Utilities is currently seeking to fill the position of a General Accounting Clerk I-II
JOB OBJECTIVE: To assist the Controller in providing accurate and timely financial information to the management and regulatory bodies of the Easton Utilities Commission. This is a full-time, non-exempt position.
For Placement as General Accounting Clerk I:
HIRING RANGE:$23.00/hr. or higher depending upon experience and credentials
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
•Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel) and familiarity with accounting software systems.
•Strong foundational understanding of accounting principles and financial processes.
•Excellent attention to detail with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
•Knowledge of accounts payable procedures and best practices.
•Effective analytical, organizational, verbal, and written communication skills.
•Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
•Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information appropriately.
•A valid driver’s license is required.
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:
•High school diploma or equivalent is required.
•Minimum of two (2) years of experience in accounting, bookkeeping, or a finance-related role; an Associate’s degree in accounting, business, or a related field may be substituted for two years of experience.
For placement at General Accounting Clerk II:
HIRING RANGE:$27.60/hr. or higher depending upon experience and credentials
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
•Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel) and experience using accounting software systems.
•Strong foundational understanding of accounting principles and financial processes.
•Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while contributing to team goals.
•In-depth knowledge of accounts payable procedures and best practices.
•Effective analytical, organizational, verbal, and written communication skills.
•Exceptional attention to detail, with a demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
•Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information appropriately.
•A valid driver’s license is required.
