Accounting Clerk/Office Assistant

Alpha Southwest has been doing business since 1964 and has grown into the largest deep-set turbine water well contractor in our region. Our services include a pump/well division, electrical division and an electric motor repair division allowing us to provide comprehensive services to our customers. We also maintain additional operations in El Paso, TX.

We are a fast-paced office looking to add another member to assist with accounting and office administrative duties.

Job Overview:

This position will play a crucial role in supporting our accounting department and main office functions with a focus on accounts receivable. Are you living in or near the Albuquerque area? Are you detail-oriented and have excellent time management skills? Have you had formal education or training in accounting principles and experience with general accounting duties such as accounts receivable, collections, and reconciliations? Do you excel at multi-tasking and accuracy? If yes, then this job is for you!

This is a great opportunity for a recent college graduate in accounting or a return-to-work parent/caregiver to take their accounting knowledge and put it into practice.

Responsibilities:

- Billings and accounts receivable. Previous experience with time and material billing a plus!

- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of financial transactions

- Collections and account reconciliations

- Support the implementation and maintenance of accounting systems, previous experience with transitioning to a new ERP system a plus

- Provide general administrative support to the office and accounting department as needed

Education:

- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting highly desired

- In lieu of degree, we will consider Associates in Accounting degree plus experience

Skills desired:

- General accounting and bookkeeping skills

- Proficiency in using accounting software systems

- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Word, Outlook, and Excel

- Financial acumen and strong understanding of basic accounting principles

- Experience with account reconciliation processes

- Knowledge of GAAP Principles and corporate accounting practices and procedures

- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and recordkeeping

- Strong analytical skills to identify discrepancies or errors in financial data

- Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
