Position Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Accountant to join our finance team. This role combines traditional accounting responsibilities with billing and project support functions. The ideal candidate will have at least five years of experience in general ledger, accounts payable, and accounts receivable , along with strong analytical and communication skills.
Key Responsibilities
Accounting Functions:
- Prepare and review general ledger and bank account reconciliations.
- Maintain, organize, and update financial records.
- Prepare, post, and review journal entries.
- Assist with month-end and year-end close processes.
- Support the development and improvement of accounting policies and procedures.
- Develop and manipulate complex Excel spreadsheets for reporting and analysis.
- Audit and verify invoices, ensuring accuracy and proper coding.
- Provide rate validation and billing support based on contract terms.
- Maintain monthly profitability reports for multiple projects.
- Collaborate with project managers and other departments to ensure accurate billing and reporting.
- Create and submit invoices to customers.
- Review and record payments from customers.
- All other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in general ledger, accounts payable, and accounts receivable.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and Adobe.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Experience with computerized accounting systems.
- High attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
- Experience with Oracle NetSuite.
- Project accounting or billing experience.
- Payroll and financial reporting experience.
- CPA certification is a plus.
- Office-based role with standard office equipment.
- Primarily sedentary with occasional filing and light lifting.
