We are seeking motivated and safety‑conscious Mill Summer Students to join our processing plant team for the upcoming summer term. This position offers a valuable opportunity to gain firsthand experience in mineral processing and mill operations while contributing to daily production, safety, and equipment support activities.
Students will work alongside experienced mill operators, supervisors, and maintenance staff to develop an understanding of milling workflows, processing equipment, and best practices in a modern mining environment.
Location: Matachewan, Ontario Employment Type: Full-Time, Summer Term Department: Mill Operations
- Supporting operators with routine monitoring of crushers, conveyors, grinding circuits, flotation cells, leach circuits, and other processing equipment
- Performing sampling, measurements, and basic testing to help track mill performance and ore quality
- Assisting with reagent handling, inventory checks, and updating operational logs
- Helping with material handling, cleanup, and general housekeeping throughout the mill
- Conducting basic equipment checks and reporting hazards or abnormalities to supervisors
- Setting up and maintaining work areas to ensure efficient and safe processing operations
- Participate in safety meetings and follow all mill safety protocols
- Perform manual labour tasks as required to support production and maintenance teams
- Complete assigned tasks efficiently while maintaining a clean, organized, and safe work environment
- Currently enrolled in a post‑secondary program (any field of study welcome; technical fields considered an asset)
- Strong work ethic and willingness to learn in an industrial and physically demanding environment
- Comfortable working in processing plant conditions (all training provided)
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work collaboratively with a team
- Physically fit and capable of lifting, climbing stairs and ladders, and performing manual tasks
- Rotating shift schedule, 7 days on, 7 days off OR 4 days on/ 3 days off, depending on department requirements
- Must have own transportation to and from mine, no camp available, however, some accommodation can be made on a case-by-case basis
- All required training and PPE provided
The company reserves the right to determine final selection and number of summer students hired. In the event, there are more applicants, than number of positions available, the Company will determine selection, based on previous site experience, good standing with grades and preference for students pursuing or currently enrolled in a course of study that is related to the mining industry.
To be eligible to apply, student must be a minimum of 16 years of age to work on surface and 18 years of age to work in underground operations.
