Painter Technician

Department Manager with direction from Team Leader
SHIFT DAYS /HOURS: 1 st shift Monday – Friday 5:00 am -1:00 pm. 40+ hours per week over the course of 5 days some overtime may require through the week and occasionally on Saturdays.
Starting Pay: $25.41 with the ability to earn more.
Bonnell is looking for a Painter Technician. This person will be responsible for conducting painting / testing procedures during manufacturing processes to ensure that products comply with quality standards. The individual should have the ability to work with plant engineers as part of a team to ensure that the solutions are fully documented and manage the approval process. Our Paint Technicians are a small group but critical to our success.
- Operate Ransburg electrostatic Paint equipment to apply industrial paint finishes onto aluminum extrusions.
- Responsible demonstrating the ability to work well with all team members and ensuring compliance to daily attainment in support of quality and schedule requirements.
- Oversee the painting of a wide variety of parts in specified colors.
- Determine and retrieve proper paint materials according to specifications.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum 2 years of related experience with powder coat or liquid paint and process.
- Responsible for daily set-up of all systems for paint processing equipment and monitoring systems and the parameters of production paint process.
- Responsible for ensuring daily production key measure (e.g., quality, efficiency, production quantities, scrap, etc.) for paint operations are met.
- Works on floor completing technical daily paint processing duties.
- Verifies process parameters.
- Helps develop plans for paint process improvement and will have specific areas of accountability in its execution.
- Assures housekeeping standards are met.
- Works with the Quality department and Paint Team Leader to improve process control.
- Trouble-shoots processing problems including normal adjustments and checks.
- Assures scrap issues are addressed and fixed in a timely manner.
EDUCATION And/or EXPERIENCE
Must be at least 18 years or older (insurance purposes), HS Diploma/GED, reliable transportation during working hours, have good interpersonal skills, have basic math skills, able to work efficiently and effectively, self-motivated self-starter with a minimum of three (3) months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS: Valid driver’s license and pass a criminal background check.

- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear.
- The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 30 pounds occasionally.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works near moving mechanical parts. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud and always without air conditioning.
- Also, must be able to work on a platform lift which elevates from 5-25 feet.
- High School Diploma/GED preferred.
- Must pass a skills-based test
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work efficiently, self-motivated, self-starter with a minimum of three (3) months related experience and/or will train hands on.
- Must pass company background check and drug screen.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operation and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables.
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
