JOB SUMMARY:

Responsible for the repair, replacement, and restoration of various automotive, tractor and heavy equipment parts and insuring quality paint work, body work, sand and shot blasting by performing general and advanced blasting and painting on all company equipment in a safe, efficient, and productive manner.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

- Ability and skill level to repair, replace automotive, tractor, and heavy equipment damage parts.

- Ability and skill level to produce quality body work and painting on any damage equipment.

- Ability and basic skill in general sand and shot blasting procedures.

- Ability to write and comprehend accurate job estimates.

- Assisting other mechanics as needed and completing special projects for the shop supervisor.

- Wearing all required personal protective equipment (PPE) related to task being performed as well as using all required safety equipment and procedures.

- Maintaining a neat and professional appearance of self and shop areas.

- Regular, reliable attendance at the work site or assigned work location.

- Other duties and responsibilities related to the nature of the job may be assigned on a temporary or permanent basis as needed

QUALIFICATIONS:

Experience/Education/Skill

- Ability to recognize and react to hazards of paints and solvents.

- Ability and knowledge to maintenance, trouble shoot and repair paint and blast equipment.

- Ability and knowledge to be able to order all parts associated with repairs.

- Ability and knowledge to prime and paint all industrial major projects.

- Ability and knowledge to basecoat/clearcoat or single stage coat all automotive, tractor or heavy equipment.

- Ability to maintain correct inventory of paint, primer and supplies.

- Ability to maintenance, troubleshoot and repair blasting equipment.

- Ability and knowledge to prime, paint projects and assist blaster as needed.

- Good safety and driving record

- Forklift certified

- Willingness to work nights, overtime and weekends as required.

- Willingness to travel on an as needed basis.

- Excellent verbal, written and comprehension communication skills.

- Excellent interpersonal skills and a positive attitude that fosters effective relationships

- Ability to wear a respirator and perform all work duties.

- Self-motivated, organized and can work without direct supervision.

- Ability to work near, around or on light or heavy equipment

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

- Lift objects of various dimensions and up to 75lbs. of weight repeatedly

- Ability to repeatedly climb stairs and climb ladders

- Ability to repeatedly balance, bend from the trunk, crawl, kneel, push, and pull objects

- Ability to use vibration tools frequently

- Ability to tolerate working in all environmental temperatures and weather conditions

- Ability to repeatedly reach, squat and tolerate prolonged standing / walking / sitting

- Ability to repeatedly walk on uneven surfaces
