Position Summary
We’re hiring a Fabrication Specialist with experience in welding, laser cutting, press brake operations, and general metal fabrication. This is a dynamic, multi-skill position for someone who takes pride in quality work, thrives on variety, and values teamwork.
You'll fabricate parts using MIG and/or TIG welding and sheet metal techniques on aluminum, steel, and stainless steel. You’ll operate Bystronic lasers, press brakes, and additional metalworking equipment to create high-precision parts and assemblies.
What You’ll Do – Key Responsibilities
Excellence
•Weld aluminum, steel, and stainless components using MIG and/or TIG methods.
•Operate and maintain Bystronic laser cutting machines and press brakes.
•Use tools such as saws, grinders, sanders, drill presses, ironworkers, and rolling machines to prepare and shape materials.
•Perform quality control checks, first-article inspections, and in-process verifications to meet tight tolerances and finish standards.
•Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
Partnership
•Collaborate closely with project managers, engineers, and operations to plan and execute fabrication projects.
•Mentor less experienced team members and share best practices across the shop.
•Participate in team discussions to improve workflow, safety, and job satisfaction.
Innovation
•Interpret fabrication drawings, CAD files, flat patterns, and work orders to troubleshoot and optimize results.
•Use BySoft or similar CNC programming software to improve efficiency and reduce waste.
•Suggest and implement improvements in layout, tooling, and equipment usage.
Customer-Centric
•Ensure all parts meet or exceed customer requirements for accuracy, appearance, and functionality.
•Understand how your work impacts downstream assembly, delivery timelines, and customer satisfaction.
•Follow processes that ensure consistent output, even for custom or high-volume jobs.
Additional Duties
•Cut raw materials and deburr parts as needed
•Participate in job planning, time tracking, and project documentation
•Perform basic maintenance on machines and report any issues
•Assist with general shop duties such as cleanup, organization, and inventory checks
•Remove shop garbage and recyclables
•Support welding, sawing, grinding, or other tasks as needed
Qualifications / Skills Preferred
•3+ years of welding experience in MIG and/or TIG (steel, stainless, aluminum)
•3+ years of sheet metal fabrication (laser cutting, press brake, rolling)
•CNC laser cutting experience (preferred)
•Ability to read blueprints, technical drawings, and flat layouts
•Proficient with calipers, micrometers, height gauges, and tape measures
•Experience operating forklifts or overhead cranes
•Strong attention to detail and mechanical aptitude
•Comfortable lifting up to 50–100 lbs regularly
•Reliable transportation (no public transit available)
Preferred Qualifications
•Formal training or certifications on CAD based CNC
•Experience in a lean manufacturing or ISO-certified environment
•Strong communication skills and a positive, team-first attitude
