Fabricators are responsible for understanding and adhering to LEM’s Quality Management System and customer expectations to properly weld using Stainless TIG and MIG, Aluminum TIG and MIG, and/or Steel TIG and MIG welding procedures and finish by examining, grinding, and polishing products ensuring that product outputs meet customer requirements before product is released. Requiring a strong attention to detail and pride in workmanship, this position is responsible for a variety of maintenance and production tasks that promote a safe, efficient production environment delivering high-quality products.
The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required for this position.
•High School Diploma or equivalent preferred
•3 year minimum in fabricating
•Fabrication skills including but not limited to Stainless TIG and MIG, Aluminum TIG and MIG, and/or Steel TIG and MIG procedures and operating fabrication machinery in a manufacturing shop and is proficient in 2 of the 3 metal types
•Knowledge of safety techniques and terminology
•Knowledge of manufacturing processes, concepts, and procedures; beginning to understand and contribute to more complex jobs
•Ability to work in a team environment and demonstrate leadership skills
•Ability to follow verbal and written instructions
•Ability to read, interpret, evaluate, and respond to procedures, specifications, drawings, and requirements
•Understand basic mathematical principles and have knowledge of measurement processes such as length, diameter, and counts
•Read and operate a tape measure and caliper
•Strong attention to detail
•Solid work ethic and pride in workmanship
•Effective verbal, written, and communication skills
•Advanced fabrication and finishing skills including but not limited to welding, print reading, examining, grinding, and polishing using appropriate tools for each procedure

•Maintain and document proper material tracking throughout project such as deficiency logs
•Maintain correct time keeping throughout project by tracking in project management software
•Use leadership skills to occasionally lead groups within a project and mentor new employees as needed for training purposes
•Ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs.
•Weld products according to customer specifications and LEM standards using Stainless TIG and MIG, Aluminum TIG and MIG, and/or Steel TIG and MIG procedures and is proficient in 2 of the 3 metal types; exhibiting advanced skills by contributing to best practices for welding procedures
•Properly setup and safely operate a variety of assigned equipment such as welding machine, ban saw, overhead crane, hammer, pliers, screwdriver, wrench, drill, grinder, and grainer according to all procedures
•With minimal supervision, examine and feel surface of workpiece for defects and choose the correct tools to grind, polish, smooth, and prepare overall product aesthetics for final inspection, ensuring product outputs meet the specified requirements before product is released; exhibiting advanced skills by contributing to best practices for finishing procedures
•Assist in other areas of the facility as needed or assigned, including overtime when necessary
