Job Summary: The Welder role includes performing Fitting welding and fabrication functions in support of production requirements in a multi-shift operation. Review assigned daily work schedules and organize welding orders for your shift.
Perform welding tasks using MIG, TIG, and other welding techniques on various metals primarily mild steel.
Set up and lay out work using fixtures, jigs, and guides to fit and fabricate parts and assemblies.
Weld components and assemblies as specified by procedures, drawings, and work orders.
Monitor stages of the welding process, assess the quality of welds, and identify flaws or potential quality issues.
At the end of each shift, review days ERP actual work hours logged by work order for accuracy and completeness, address any errors daily.
Ensure FAI (First Article Inspections) are performed to verify the accuracy of each work order.
In conjunction with QA, commit to ensuring the quality of production parts post FAI units by conducting detailed inspections.
· Collaborate with the Department Team Lead, and Quality Engineer in resolving NCRs (Non-Conformance Reports) such as part damages, shortages, or tolerance issues, and the implementation of corrective actions.
Participate in required training to attain and retain appropriate CWB Certifications.
Maintain welding equipment and work areas in accordance with company standards and preventative maintenance requirements and schedules.
Ensure all work is performed in accordance with Health and Safety practices and internal company policies.
Assist in the development and improvement of welding processes and techniques.
Preference for experience with tank production and seam welds
CWB 47.1 certification required; 47.2 certification is an asset.
Extensive experience in fitting and fabrication technical processes and equipment.
Extensive knowledge of welding symbols, blueprints, shop drawings, and measurement tools.
Experience with robotic welding and automation is an asset.
Adept at problem-solving and adaptable to new situations and challenges, taking an analytical approach to problem-solving and developing creative solutions to technical production issues.

High School or College diploma or technician certificate combined with formal technical training and work experience in welding and fitting.
Expected hours: No less than 40 per week
