High Strength Plates & Profiles Inc. is currently looking for a Welder/Fabricator to join the HSPP team. We are looking for a candidate that has 4 years experience within the steel industry. Experience operating an Oxy Bevel machine, welding machine, Oxy and Plasma hand torch is a must. Also the candidate must have the ability to read and interpret welding blueprints, drawings and specifications. This position requires attention to detail, and the ability to think on your feet as it's a dynamic environment. Responsibilities:
•Read blueprints, set up components for welding according to specifications.
•Bevel, polish, grind, weld, fit and fabricate parts as needed per drawing.
•Align components using jigs, calipers, rulers etc. clamp and tack weld as required.
•Study sample parts, blueprints and engineering information to determine methods and sequences of operations needed to fabricate products to determine product final dimensions and tolerances.
•Test and inspect welded surfaces and structure to discover flaws.
•Perform final inspections of parts/weldment, measure and record key dimensions and fill in QA forms as needed.
•Operate oxy bevel machines, plasma hand torches and related crane and lifting equipment.
Qualifications:
•Ability to perform welding requirements for SMAW, GMAW, and FCAW in accordance with the CWB standards, as well as providing necessary weld preps or bevel parts.
•Must have the ability to read and interpret welding blueprints, drawings and specifications
•Minimum 4 years experience as welder and fabricator.
•Professional Certification will be a plus.
•OXY and plasma beveling experience will be an asset.
•Overhead crane experience will be an asset
