Fabricator/Welder

Position Overview: The Welder/Fabricator position within Artisan Forge Metalworks (AFMW) requires a background in and experience with multiple welding processes as well as a deep knowledge of the skills required to be a proficient fabricator. Quality and efficiency should always be first and foremost. The Welder/ Fabricator is expected to maintain a high level of professionalism in all environments, understanding that they are continually representing the company and are expected to do so in ways that are in line with the overall philosophy of the company both professionally and personally.

Primary Roles Include: Please note, these roles are inclusive of working closely with the lead fabricator and other members of the team. Additional roles and responsibilities, as assigned.

● Is accountable, timely, efficient, organized, precise, proactive, thorough and collaborative in how they work.

● Possesses strong problem solving skills and the ability to think outside the box to come up with creative, effective and thoughtful solutions to any manner of problem or obstacle.

● Reads and interprets blueprints and design drawings and can determine how to appropriately and accurately set up fixtures to ensure high quality parts.

● Understands how to set up and use common fabrication equipment to safely and accurately cut, bend, form and handle all types of materials.

● Possesses an understanding of all common welding (MIG steel, TIG aluminum/stainless, some stick) processes including setting up and maintaining welding equipment.

● Ensures all welds are of high quality and certifiable, meeting AFMW and industry-wide standards.

● Possesses the ability to weld, grind and finish work to an acceptable level per instructions and shop prints; understands the appropriate steps to meet the project requirements.

● Adaptable working in the shop as well as in the field, conducting the work safely, consciously and efficiently, while safeguarding our product as well as our customers properties, homes and other surroundings.

● Interacts in a professional and respectful manner with other team members as well as any outside tradespeople or customers.

● Capable of standing for long periods of time and to be able to lift and move heavy objects up to 75 lbs.

● Abides by all required safety standards in both material handling as well as personal protection equipment
